Three White House advisors gave three completely different estimates of jobs created by the stimulus this morning. On the Sunday morning talk show circuit, Valerie Jarrett, Robert Gibbs and Ellie Light David Axelrod showed just how difficult it can be to get your stories straight when you're not telling the truth:
Valerie Jarrett had the most conservative count, saying "the Recovery Act saved thousands and thousands of jobs," while David Axelrod gave the bill the most credit, saying it has "created more than – or saved more than 2 million jobs." Press Secretary Robert Gibbs came in between them, saying the plan had "saved or created 1.5 million jobs."
So the lies from the White House continue. Here's the truth: after one year, the $800 million stimulus has yielded a net loss of jobs, 10% unemployment and a record federal spending deficit. The boondoggle has been a colossal failure and was never going to be anything more than a slush fund for pork addicted politicians looking to grease the wheels during an election year.
But keep bullsh*tting us with made up numbers telling us how great it's been. We have absolutely no problem being lied to by our president and his cronies…nope, not at all.
