A recent poll from Rasmussen shows that three quarters of likely voters are angry with the federal government and their policies, including a whopping 45% that are very angry. The breakdown is as follows:
Eighty-nine percent (89%) of Republicans are angry with the government's current policies, which is perhaps not surprising with the White House and Congress both in Democratic hands. But 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party agree.
Sixty-one percent (61%) of Democrats share that anger, but Republicans are three times as likely as Democrats to be Very Angry.
Take those numbers and add them to the latest Gallup poll that shows near single digit approval ratings of Congress for independents and Republicans alike, and Democratic support falling 15 point in three weeks:
On top of those rosy numbers, Marist just released a poll showing President Obama's overall approval rating at 44%, which is an all time low and horrific enough, but more horrifying to Democrats everywhere is this: only 29% of independents approve of the job the president is doing and 59% disapprove.
Considering that only 20% of voters consider themselves liberal, 30% conservative and 50% independent, the numbers above spell trouble for the current party in power. Those numbers just might make it possible for a Tea Party movement to be a success in a three party race.
And don't think for a second that Sarah Palin isn't keeping tabs on all this because she is. Hillary too.
