That's a whole lot of unhappy, freedom-loving patriots getting together at Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally to send the following message to the arrogant, elitist left: you do not know what's best for us and it's time for a change. 

So consider yesterday's gathering of half a million concerned citizens an omen of what's to come November 2nd.  Elections do have consequences.

New NRSC ad: Who exactly is extreme again?

Uh, it's the party of big government, trillion dollar deficits, forced healthcare, et cetera, et cetera. Yeah, you know, the one that knows what's best for all of us no matter what we may think.  The Democrats have done more damage to themselves by exposing their true colors in ignoring the court of public opinion on pretty much every single one of their agenda items and on issues like the AZ immigration law and the Ground Zero Mosque.  

They are no longer the party of the people and this new ad sheds some light on that fact:

I say good riddance and let's just hope the new Republican majority doesn't act as stupidly as the Democratic one did over the past 19 months.

The "worst president ever" label is starting to surface - and stick

And it only took 18 months.

Obama has been one big ass disappointment to say the least, and you just know the Hillary lovers are looking at their intra-party Obot rivals with a look of deep concern as the political carnage continues to pile up around them.

You can already see the Republicans in 2012 circling like vultures over what's left of President Hopenchange.  There is no doubt their platforms will be based on a theme of competent leadership, something we have yet to see from the artist formerly known as the Smartest President Ever. Throw in some economic expertise and a dash of fiscal responsibility and you pretty much have the recipe for your next president - a Republican.

Record low!

A new low in the passion index:

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 23% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -22. That’s the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for this president (see trends).

An interesting subset of the poll is the breakdown in support by gender:

Among men, 20% Strongly Approve and 50% Strongly Disapprove. Among women, those numbers are 27% and 40%.

That's some serious dissatisfaction by men with half strongly disapproving.  That does not bode well for The One. Not to mention, that this oil spill – and the lack of a federal response – is going to hurt as we move forward.  If this thing isn’t plugged soon, Obama may surpass Bush’s poll numbers at the end of his 2nd term, and that is not what Team Obama had in mind two months ago.

The new Democratic strategy: Stay away from Obama

If they want to be reelected, of course.

In the past, I’ve referred to Barack Obama as the Grim Reaper of political stumping as his “support” of Democratic candidates has pretty much guaranteed their demise.   Gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey didn’t go as planned and we all know what happened in the Massachusetts Senate race.

Without skipping a beat, Tuesday’s primaries kept Obama’s political implosion streak alive:

Voters rejected one of President Barack Obama's hand-picked candidates and forced another into a runoff, the latest sign that his political capital is slipping beneath a wave of anti-establishment anger.

Sen. Arlen Specter became the fourth Democrat in seven months to lose a high-profile race despite the president's active involvement, raising doubts about Obama's ability to help fellow Democrats in this November's elections.

The first three candidates fell to Republicans. But Specter's loss Tuesday to Rep. Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania's Democratic senatorial primary cast doubts on Obama's influence and popularity even within his own party—and in a battleground state, no less.

After two years of a radical, leftist agenda, the cadre of former supporters experiencing buyer’s remorse has grown exponentially - and it’s showing in the anti-Midas touch of President Obama’s public endorsements.

It’s going to be fun to watch vulnerable Democrats tell the president to stay the hell away from them decline the administration’s public support in the months leading up to the November elections.

Nancy Pelosi: Quit your job! Those losers with jobs will pay for your healthcare!

Seriously.  She basically said just that:

Job locked?  She says that like it's a bad thing.  It's just another example of the liberal wealth redistribution scheme that punishes success and rewards failure. 

The law is the law...unless you're a Dem who disagrees with the law. Then you can fight it.

As Rush says below, we were all told to shut up once ObamaCare became law - because it was the law of the land.  The Arizona immigration law however, is a completely different story apparently:

Trust in Washington at lowest level in 50 years

Pew Research released a survey of the American attitude toward the big government Hopenchange quest for social justice we currently find ourselves in and the results were pretty much what one would expect – terrible:

Just 22% say they can trust the government in Washington almost always or most of the time, among the lowest measures in half a century. About the same percentage (19%) says they are "basically content" with the federal government, which is largely unchanged from 2006 and 2007, but lower than a decade ago.

Opinions about elected officials are particularly poor. In a follow-up survey in early April, just 25% expressed a favorable opinion of Congress, which was virtually unchanged from March (26%), prior to passage of the health care reform bill. This is the lowest favorable rating for Congress in a quarter century of Pew Research Center surveys. Over the last year, favorable opinions of Congress have declined by half -- from 50% to 25%. […]

Consider this some of the collateral damage from ignoring the electorate and engaging in deceptive practices to pass legislation that no one wanted.  The people are not dumb and this survey suggests that they’re catching on to the shell game.

This is not good news for incumbents who voted in lockstep with the unpopular Democratic agenda and – if this survey is any indication – November may actually be worse for the Left than previously thought.

Waxman calls off corporation witch hunt

 

Henry Waxman has cancelled his inquisition of US corporations who had the gall to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and report the costly effects of ObamaCare to their investors.  From Fox News:

Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman, D-Calif., has canceled a hearing intended to grill CEOs who took a charge against profits because of the health care reform bill.

The cancellation came after they realized what everyone already knew - that the companies were required to do what they did because of accounting rules. Waxman and others had reacted with outrage and accused the companies of doing it - in essence, to make health care reform look bad.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act – which Waxman supported – requires that any information that will have an adverse effect on a company’s bottom line has to be reported immediately.  When AT&T, Caterpillar and John Deere announced close to $1.5 billion in increased costs due to ObamaCare’s passage, they were following the law. 

Waxman was either too stupid to realize this or simply didn’t care and demanded the corporations appear before Congress to answer for their O-Care demagoguery.  My guess is someone got to Waxman and informed him how ridiculous his intimidation stunt looked and that nothing beneficial could come from demonizing businesses that were following a law that he voted for.
