Change you can believe in: Obama 48, GW Bush 46

Wow.  We have come so far so quick.  The latest poll from PPP has a very surprising result:

Americans are now pretty evenly divided about whether they would rather have Barack Obama or George W. Bush in the White House. 48% prefer Obama while 46% say they would rather have the old President back. […]

These numbers suggest some peril for Democrats in making Bush a focus of their messaging this fall. A lot of folks who contributed to the former President's low level of popularity now like Obama even less. Figuring out a way to make voters change their minds about the current President would be a much more effective strategy for Democrats than continuing to try to score points off the former one.

By the time he left office, George W. Bush was one of the most unpopular president’s to ever grace the Oval Office.  To think that he would currently be in a statistical dead heat with The One – who came into office with unprecedented fanfare – speaks volumes about the quality of President Obama’s performance.

You think this might me an indicator that a vote for O-Care was also a vote to send Congressional hacks packing?  Politico has the quote of the year from a concerned constituent to Representative Paul Hodes (D-NH) upon his return to the Granite State:

"I don't want to shake your hand. You voted for health care, so just go," snapped Carmen Guimond, as she refocused on her lunch of roast beef and mashed potatoes and waved him on.

Fantastic: sex offenders to get government funded Viagra from O-Care

I am now convinced that common sense has become extinct in DC and we are being led by complete morons:

The Congressional Research Service confirmed in a memo Wednesday that rapists and sex offenders may get federally subsidized Viagra and other sexual performance enhancing drugs under the recently passed health care reform law — information that Republicans charge will haunt Democrats in upcoming elections.

I guess we now live in an age where we can’t have impotent rapists running around unable to get the job done, now can we?

Disgruntled Democrats joining the Tea Party

 

It was only a matter of time. From CNN:

Some Americans who say they have been sympathetic to Democratic causes in the past -- some even voted for Democratic candidates -- are angry with President Obama and his party. They say they are now supporting the Tea Party -- a movement that champions less government, lower taxes and the defeat of Democrats even though it's not formally aligned with the Republican Party. [...]

Roxanne Lewis expressed a similar point of view. A small business owner in Grand Junction, Lewis described herself as a lifelong Democrat and called the president a "phenomenal speaker." She voted for him because she "believed in what he was saying: change."

But, Lewis added, "I should've listened a lot closer when he talked about 'spreading the wealth.' "

Asked how she feels about having voted for the president, Lewis said "I feel lied to, cheated and raped."

Uh, yeah, join the club Roxanne.  I will add you to the growing list of Democrats that are looking for their receipts for that Hopenchange product that has failed to work as advertised.

Congressman sworn to uphold the Constitution: "I don't worry about the Constitution..."

Here's the admission that the Constitution is merely a dish towel in Liberal World:

First off, this clown didn't know the difference between the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.  Second, he admitted that he wasn't concerned about the Constitution, even though he was elected and sworn to uphold the Constitution. Third, he admitted he didn't know where in the Constitution it states the government can mandate citizens purchasing health insurance (hint - it doesn't).

Here's his damage control to his incompetence:

I'm paraphrasing here but to summarize the congressman's response, he basically said "it was taken out of context.  I love the Constitution!"

No one believes you.  Good luck finding a job in November pal.

This is not good news for Democrats

Iceberg ahead:

More Americans say Republicans would be better for the economy, taking a position Democrats had held through Barack Obama’s presidency, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research poll out Friday.

Forty-eight percent of the 1,009 adults surveyed nationwide said Republicans would “do a better job” of dealing with the economy, topping Democrats by three percentage points.

The number is a contrast from August, when Democrats were rated as better on the economy by 52 percent compared with 39 percent for Republicans.

The economy – despite what Barack “Healthcare has been my sole focus while record unemployment has festered” Obama will tell you –  is the number one concern of the voting public.  That spells big trouble for the Party of Spend It If You Got It Regardless come November and beyond.  

Even Timmy Geithner is coming clean and letting everyone know that the future does not look so bright:

"The unemployment rate is still terribly high and it's going to stay unacceptably high for a long period of time," Geithner said on NBC's "Today" Show.

And that unemployment rate – along with the corrupt passage of a health bill that the American people despised – is going to be the proverbial iceberg that cuts into the hull of the liberal luxury liner. November's midterm elections will leave numerous Democratic carcasses floating around the wreckage.

And before any lefty accuses me of wanting to drown a Democrat, let me be clear - that's a metaphor.

And that's sampling adults - who always lean left - and not likely voters.
