Another new low: Presidential Approval Index at -23

After two prior occasions of reaching -22, The One has broken that barrier and reached a new low at -23.

 

And that's no easy task.  From Rasmussen Reports: 

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 24% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-seven percent (47%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -23 (see trends).

That’s the highest level of Strong Disapproval and the lowest Approval Index daily rating yet recorded for this president.  

George Bush left office with a rating of -30, and that was after 8 years, two unpopular wars and a complete demonization by the media. Obama is at -23 in under 2 years with a media that has kissed his proverbial ass.  Should the economy continue to tank and if he maintains the course of his far-left agenda - one that has raised deficits at the expense of jobs - he will shatter Bush's lack of popularity.

Obama screws up history again. Gets quote on new Oval Office rug wrong.

 Somehow it must be Bush's fault.  You can't make this stuff up:

A mistake has been made in the Oval Office makeover that goes beyond the beige.

President Obama's new presidential rug seemed beyond reproach, with quotations from Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. woven along its curved edge.

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." According media reports, this quote keeping Obama company on his wheat-colored carpet is from King.

Except it's not a King quote. The words belong to a long-gone Bostonian champion of social progress. His roots in the republic ran so deep that his grandfather commanded the Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington.

For the record, Theodore Parker is your man, President Obama...

Seriously, can you imagine the national uproar from the media if George Bush had done something this stupid?

Photo ops gone bad

Drudge posted this today showing our president in "mom jeans on daughter's bike" - as Michelle Malkin titled it - and comedically contrasted it to a much more masculine pic of former Russian President Vladmir Putin:

That is a pretty lame pic of the POTUS and one has to wonder who the hell wears jeans on a bicycle anyway?  Malkin took the Drudge contrast even further with this pic of the previous POTUS looking a tad bit more masculine:

That got me thinking, so I took a trip down memory lane and uncovered these beauties via a Bing image search:

  

 

CNN assigns the B-Team to work the Beck rally

At least in the studio anyway.  How else do you explain this:

 

They just didn't screw up once with that graphic either ... they screwed up three times: 1) That is not Palin; 2) That is not how you spell "Sarah"; and 3) "Sara" Palin is not a "former presidential candidate" and neither is "Sarah" Palin.

The last one might be a Freudian slip and wishful thinking on their part.  Former presidential candidate is probably a little easier on the ears to the CNN crowd than say, President Palin.

Poll: Bush during Katrina was way better than Obama during spill

 

Remember the outrage directed directly at GW Bush during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina? With the help of the mainstream media, Bush was painted as both a moron in over his head and an elitist who could care less about the people of the Gulf region, especially all the black people.

There wasn't a more unpopular man in the country at the time.  Of course, the majority of the hatred was generated from myths - that were later proven to be false - propagandized from a hate-filled, far-left leaning media bias that pounced on a golden opportunity.  And it worked.

But oh what a difference a few years - and another federal response to a regional disaster - make. In light of the Gulf oil spill, Public Policy Polling uncovered an admiration for Bush's response to Katrina in comparison to that of Obama's for the spill:

Louisianans are feeling more and more that George W. Bush's leadership on Katrina was better than Obama's on the spill. 54% think Bush did the superior job of helping the state through a crisis to 33% who pick Obama. That 21 point margin represents a widening since PPP asked the same question in June and found Bush ahead by a 15 point margin. Bush beats Obama 87-2 on that score with Republicans and 42-30 with independents, while Obama has just a 65-24 advantage with Democrats.

Of course, there is no way in hell this poll will be reported anywhere but in conservative circles but expect to hear about it during presidential debates in 2012, when the right crushes Obama on his incompetence and failure to lead. 

Karma, as always, is a funny thing.

A political interview for the ages

This is simply classic and shows the risks of live television.  It also shows the risks associated with not screening your guests.  A Providence, RI station decided to start a "Coffee Hour wit the Candidates" segment where they get to know the candidates running for local office and boy did they get to know this guy:

The response from the segment's host is priceless as she attempts to balance professionalism and her shock of what's occurring to her on live TV, without busting up in hysterics and/or tears.  It was nice work on her end.

But this is just another example of what a disgusted electorate does to initiate its own change in a sour political climate.  So add Providence Mayoral candidate Chris Farley, err, Chris Young to the list of the Alvin Greene's and the Basil Marceaux's of the world, all attempting to make it a better place.

George Will keeps Paul Krugman in check

George Will, acting as the voice of reason on a panel of moonbats, did a nice job debating far-left economist Paul Krugman on ABC's "This Week" today.  Krugman continues on his quest to get Congress to waste, er, spend even more money we don't have on economic stimulus.  Will argues otherwise citing the weak recovery and the shift by consumers to save instead of spend, and calls for measures of austerity instead of more reckless spending.

It certainly is nice to have some common sense mixed in with a group like this , isn't it? 

Paul Ryan hands Chris Matthews his lunch

Chris Matthews had Representative Paul Ryan on his show and predictably attempted to cross up the GOP' rising fiscal star throughout the interview. Ryan, to his credit, stuck to his roadmap providing - gasp! - facts and a concrete plan toward deficit reduction and fiscal responsibility. Matthews, as a result, came off looking like the far left hack that he is, and could obviously care less about Ryan's plan.  Matthews was simply trying to set him up.

As NewsBusters points out, Matthews behavior toward Ryan is the new norm from those on the the left who have driven this economy into the ditch.  They continue to blather on about how the GOP hasn't any answers for our economic woes even though the GOP - as Rep. Ryan eloquently displayed above - has been trying to tell these morons what to do for close to two years now.  

And as Matthews so ignorantly demonstrated in the video, they just don't want to listen.

Cool theory: Toy Story 3 a fable for our current political climate?

 

David Harsanyi at Reason.com breaks down the plot from Toy Story 3 and it certainly does sound a wee bit familiar:

Think about it. A slick sloganeering teddy bear convinces a gaggle of beleaguered toys that he holds the key to a brighter future. The toys, longing for leadership after years of broken promises and incompetence, uncritically submit to the teddy bear's vision.

Before long, even non-Ivy Leaguers like Mr. Potato Head, Rex, and Slinky catch on. All creeds of plaything are forced to sacrifice liberty and happiness for the collective good—as imagined by a technocratic leader, his feckless vice-leader (a Ken doll), and their muscle (a giant baby doll).

First there is concern and then anger and then revolt. Even Barbie—having shown no interest in political activism for more than 50 years—unleashes the best line in the history of animated films: "Authority should derive from the consent of the governed, not from the threat of force!"

Sacrificing "liberty and happiness for the collective good" has been the hidden foundation of the Obama agenda ever since he slipped up with the wealth redistribution comment to Joe the Plumber.  The focus on the “collective good” and being our brothers keepers has been the common denominator in everything from healthcare and financial reform to the mortgage bailouts.  Punishing success and rewarding failure has been the subliminal theme in just about everything this administration has done.

And, come to think of it, the “consent of the governed” has been noticeably absent in the majority of President Obama’s moves throughout his first 18 months as POTUS, as he has been successful in pushing unpopular legislation down the throats of an unwilling electorate.  

We currently live in an age where the government knows what’s best for all us apparently, no matter how much us drooling idiots may disagree and yeah, Toy Story 3 does a pretty good job of subconsciously putting that fact out there.

Yeah, but at least they're not racist prostitutes

In another example of how despicable the biased mainstream media has become, Kathy Griffin called Scott Brown’s daughters “prostitutes.'”  CNN Reporter Dana Bash thought it was hysterical.  NewsBusters reports:

On her Bravo TV show Tuesday night, left-wing comedian Kathy Griffin referred to Sen. Scott Brown's two daughters as "prostitutes," and a CNN reporter apparently thought it hysterical. [Audio available here.]

Griffin, who was readying herself for a trip to Washington, DC to rally and drum up support for a repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," brought CNN reporters (husband and wife) Dana Bash and John King onto the show to "coach" her for handling Washington. Bash is a congressional correspondent for CNN, while King anchors the news hour "John King, USA."

When the couple showed Griffin a picture of Sen. Scott Brown and asked her to identify the figure, she responded "Scott Brown – who is a senator from Massachusetts, and has two daughters that are prostitutes."

Bash erupted with laughter, while King grimaced.

Simply repulsive.

When you have reporters acting like this - and others openly praising dead terrorists -  you’re either running a network that hates America, or not doing background checks thoroughly enough during the interview process.  I'm going with a little bit of both.
